(In order of favoritism)
ReplyDelete1. The most interesting thing I enjoyed this semester was finding out that Paul Revere wasn't the man who rode around alerting people that the British were coming. The other thing that surprised me was that "The British are coming!" weren't even the words used!
2. Okay, acting out the things we were learning in history was really fun. Something about seeing the context in action allowed us to get the feel of what the event really was like.
3. It was fun creating our own settlement with that website you found! Too bad we didn't get to choose all the worse options as a class! But I learned from this that there were many decisions to take into consideration when Jamestown was being formed.
4. "The Story of Us" was AMAZE! I'm still getting over the fact how amazing the clothing was. IT ALL LOOKED SO REAL! It really kept my attention and helped with the material. What I didn't know was that women were spies, too.
5. I loved watching "Liberty Kids" to answer our blog on Valley Forge! That show rocks! Too bad I don't watch it as often anymore. The blog helped me remember those "days". I didn't know that Benjamin Franklin recommended Fredrick Von Stueben until watching that episode.
6. Mr. Haston, where do you find all those books that tell us the side stories that supported the big picture in history? Those are too fun to read.
7. The blog where we had to write a letter in the perspective of De Vaca was interesting, so I give it a "7".
8. Learning the truth about Christopher Columbus and how he treated the Native Americans…STILL MIND-BLOWING
9. I liked reading about someone from history, in my case Olaudah Equiano, because it helped me get in depth of how much different life was back then compared to now. Times have really changed.
10. The Crash Corse videos were fun! They really helped us take a good first-look at the material. They were pretty interesting!

3. I loved learning about the Revolutionary War! It was so cool to me knowing that women spied, and was sometimes even a soldier!
4. I also liked learning about the winter at Valley Forge. It was interesting to me to know that even though some soldiers left, some were dedicated and fought through the cold!
5. Another thing I thought was fun was when we acted out some of the things we were learning about. It was so fun to see how the rest of my classmates and I would talk and act!
6. Something else I liked that we watched was that movie… I think it was something like “The Story of Us” I can’t remember what it was called but I really liked it! It was so cool to me how it seemed so real! It really helped me understand it better!
7. I really liked learning more about the Boston Tea Party this year! It was funny to me how you were saying “When you put tea in water… I makes tea!” So the ocean became tea, anyway…
8. Also, I liked reading that sermon “Sinners in the hands of an Angry God” It was very interesting to me to read that guys perspective.
9. OK, I really loved watching Pocahontas in your class! It was so fun to me to watch the Disney version, then read a bunch of those articles, and do my project on her, and learn the true stuff about her! ( and never forget the time you played “the major pickup line” like 5 times so the boys could write it down )
10. And last but not least, I can never forget the time we played that Jamestown game! That was so much fun! Lets just say the one we did as a class did not go so well! I loved learning about Jamestown that way! I love your class so much Mr. Haston! (373)

8) The fact that we actually have a blog to do is cool because it always makes us think more and (even though it doesn't really like me) is still really fun.
9) Making that class colony for Jamestown was really fun except for the fact that we would've all died if we were alive in those days.
10) And last but certainly not least watching the Disney version of Pocahontas then comparing it to the actual story was fun (considering I'm a Disney fanatic and even though it was historically inaccurate it kind of goes along with the whole what if? kind of thing. Like the Year of the Hangman book I showed you)(276)
