By reading the story, it gave me more of an insight of what happened that day. I thought there would be more of a grand parade in honor of the new nation getting a leader. ReplyDeleteThis painting seems to portray Washington as a god-like person. He is in the center and surrounded by clouds and bright lights. I don't like this painting because of that, and I really wish Washington wasn't portrayed like that. Sure Washington was amazing, but he wasn't anything close to a god, so this was a huge mistake on the painter's part. 62 words
This would have been as crazy day. Starting a new government and truly getting a new president could've made people nervous or others stressed. However, I think the true feeling in the air was excitement. Especially because of the things Washington did before he became president. There was probably more excitement here than any other election/ inauguration of a president just because of the fact that Washington was indeed he first. Also considering some people didn't think we or our government would've survived without him as the first. - 88
ReplyDeleteReally the painting shows how honored and highly viewed George Washington was. It really shows how highly loved he was. He was surrounded by lots of people maybe showing how exctited they were to finally have a president who also gave the people a say. It also shows that some people would have thought of Washington as a god. This is obviously not true because Washington had to surround himself with smart people to make smart moves for America. He could not do it all on his own. He also made mistakes along the way. Although,He is somebody who did something amazing. - 103

Honestly I did not really get the purpose of the art. I mean they could have put him fighting or something. At least it could have been a little realistic. I think they viewed George Washington at "god". Like they thought of him so highly he needed to be honored.

1. I think that it must have been a exciting but yet, stressful day. Many important things were going to happen then. As a citizen I would be scared and. If I was going along with what Washington agreed with, which I think most people did, I think I would have been excited, that a man who got his wisdom from God, was becoming the leader of our country. I would have been glad to know, he was making the decision for our country. It would have been scary for those who don't agree with Washington because they would probably never agree with him.
