  1. Observations:
    1. He is standing on torn documents on the floor, one being the constitution
    2. The whole idea of Jackson being dressed as a king goes completely against his whole I am of the common man thing
    3. The quote “Had I been consulted” is on the side, this is Jackson's cabinets lack of any opinion, if he didn't like it he would just fire you
    4. He has a sword which means one of two things to me, he has the sword because he will go to war with anyone who tries to get in his way or, he was a war hero
    5. He is holding a piece of rolled paper in his hand that says veto, he would veto any law he did not like

This was definitely made by Jackson haters, and they made a big point that they thought Jackson was like a dictator.

  2. Observations from the picture
    1. The picture looks like they made Jackson as a king or ruler.
    2. It makes it seem like whoever made this wanted to glorify him.
    3. He is standing on document that have been torn or could be old.
    4. That Jackson could have been the first to do stuff like this.
    5. He probably acted like a king or like he was a dictator.

I think that it was one of his supporters because, in their eyes he was in power and he did stuff that people thought was like a king or ruler.

  3. 1. Dressed as a king
    2. Holding a veto paper
    3. Standing on a ripped Constitution
    4. The title "King Andrew the First" is at the bottom
    5. Holds a staff

I think this might have been created by one of his haters because they are giving him the image of the King of England, which the people broke away from in order to gain freedom. Him standing on a ripped Constitution kinda shows him tearing apart the roots of the government and destroying what the people fought for. The title "King Andrew The First" points to his haters thinking of Andrew as the first king or dictator of The United States. 112

  4. 1. He is dressed as a king.
    2. He is holding a veto paper.
    3. He is standing on the ripped constitution.
    4. There is a throne behind him.
    5. There are kingly titles around the picture.

This was definately created by Andrew Jackson's haters. There is no way it was made by his supporters, because the whole picture depicts Andrew Jackaon as a selfish king. It shows how people thought he broke the constitution, and vetoed all the laws people wanted. Also, it makes him look very power hungry, which he actually kind of was. Regardless, this was definately made by his haters.

  5. 1. I see Andrew Jackson being dressed like a king or ruler would dress
    2. I see Andrew Jackson standing on torn shreds of the constitution
    3. He is holding a sword in his left hand, which means he may go to war/duel.
    4. He probably thought that he was the ruler/king of the united states and he wouldn't let anyone get in his way.
    5. I see him with a piece of paper I'm his left hand saying the word "veto" on it.

I think This was made by Andrew jackson's haters/enemies because they wanted him to look bad or even look like a dictator.

    3. He is holding a veto document
4.there is an eagle on the right side
5.it says he was born to command

I think this could have been created by either because his supporters could have been saying that he was like the almighty ruler, and he saved our country by vetoing the laws because they were bad laws, but his haters could have been saying he's to ruling and all he does is veto stuff. His haters could also have said that he is very selfish.

  7. 1.Jackson is dressed like a king and called "King Jackson The First"

    2. He is standing on a ripped up constitution, among other documents important to America.

    3. He is holding a veto bill, most likely because he vetoed a lot of bills congress wanted to pass.

    4. He has a throne, again suggesting he is like a king

    5. He is standing on a document that is for the national bank, which he furiously hated.

This picture is definitely anti-Jackson. It portrays him as a king, which isn't what America has and is very offensive. No one on his side would ever insult him, so this had to have been a pro- Whig or other party cartoon

  8. One ) he is dressed like a king which is not a good thing in this country
Two) he is standing on ripped apart documents
Three) he has a veto in his hand
Four) he was standing on the constitution
Five) he does not look happy
This is definitely Andrew Jackson. This is saying that he was trying to control the country without the country's permission. Over like a king king Andrew Jackson. This is saying that he was trying to control the country without the country's permission. Over like a king. I think
Expel did not like him very much because of this word count 103

  9. 1.) He is on a throne
2.) He is standing on a ripped constitution
3.) He is holding a veto paper
4.) It says born to command
5.) He is dressed as a King

I think this was drawn by his haters. They were showing how he thought because he was Andrew Jackson he could do anything he wanted to. That's why he was standing on the constitution and holding a veto paper, because he doesn't have to follow rules, and he doesn't have to do what others say. They are showing a picture of what they think Andrew Jackson thinks like. His haters think that Andrew Jackson thinks he's the best and no one is better than him and that's why he's king. I do believe this was drawn and written by Jacksons haters.

    5. "King Andrew the first" is written at the bottom

I think this picture was made by a a few of his haters. It had the King of England type theme which was not a good thing. The king of England wanted everything his way so I think they were mocking him. Jackson was also like that so its not like they were making this up. If Jackson wanted something he was going to get it.

  11. 1. In the picture it shows Andrew Jackson standing on a throne.
2.He is standing on the Constitution of the United States.
    3. It says Born to command on the Top, then Had I been consulted, King Andrew the first, of veto memory.
    4. Jackson is pictured as a king.
    5. He is holding a bill that says Veto on it.

I think that it was made by Jackson Haters because, they are trying to say he thinks he is above the constitution or above the law and he can do whatever he wants. I think they call him a king because, they think he pictures himself with all of the power.

  12. 1. I first see Andrew Jackson being depicted as a king or ruler in a "wealthy mans clothes."
    2. He is standing on top of a torn up copy of the constitution! Seriously?!
    3. He was holding a scroll and or paper that says VETO. I think this stood for his stubbornness and donkey etc. attitude at times.
    4. Holding a ruling staff.
    5. He is also standing in front of a throne, again, a statement going against his "I am a common man" statements.

In my opinion, this was defiantly made by Andrew Jackson's haters. This completely takes back everything he said about being a gentle leader, respects the constitution, and being a common man. So no, this is NOT supporting Andrew Jackson at all.

  14. 1. AJ has a crown and cape, thus being a King
    2. AJ is standing on top of the shredded Constitution of the United States
    3. AJ is holding in his hand a scroll that says "veto"
    4. The bottom of the cartoon has the text: "KING ANDREW THE FIRST", so it must be referring to Andrew Jackson's "My way or the Highway" attitude
    5. Andrew Jackson's "throne" is set next to a table, which, underneath, is an eagle (America's symbol of freedom) holding up said table

This cartoon was clearly drawn to antagonize Andrew Jackson into the image of what his enemies saw. This depiction of Jackson is the opposite of 1. the American ideal, that no man should have too much power like a monarch, and 2. who Jackson claimed to be: the common American man.

This is Chris Roberts, my profile isn't working

    4. He's also stepping on a piece of ripped up paper that says Internal Improvements and U.S. Bank.
    5. Andrew Jackson is dressed in robes, has a scepter, has a crown on his head, and has a throne behind him.

I think that this cartoon was made by people who hated him. It seems to me like he is being presented as a dictator, and people that like him wouldn't want him to be seen like that.

4Under his foot is a paper that says Constitution of the United States of America
5.On the top of the cartoon it says born to command
I think the cartoon was created by Jackson's haters because it was of Jackson as a King and it said born to command at the top of it and there is obviously an evil looking bird next to him so that what makes me think Jackson's haters made this cartoon 104 words

    4. There is an eagle under the table.
    5. He is "Born to Command"
I think that this was created my Jackson supporters. It says all positive things about Jackson which leads me to believe that the people that created this wanted him to be president and support his election. Is you want someone or something to win you say good thing about the/ that object and do all you can to make everyone else believe what you believe.

5.He is standing on the ripped up documents

Whoever made this cartoon is anti Jackson.Potraying him as a king is a very negative thing, the U.S was formed because of colonists rebelling against a king.It shows that he disregarded the constitution and that he didn't really care what anyone had to say about the decisions that he was making. To me,this cartoon is very obviously anti Jackson.(103 words)

    4. He's holding a paper that says veto
    5. Says "born to command"

I believe that this was made by haters because he is dressed as a king and is shown to be holding all the power. This may not sound bad to everybody but America was to be show as equal power and a king would go against our reasoning for separating from England. It could've been supporters showing that he was fit for the power, but in my opinion it was created by haters because this is exactly what we wanted to get away from. (119)

  20. 1. The quotes on the margin of the picture in regards to him being a “king” implies he is running the country as a dictator.
    2. Jackson is stepping on the tattered constitution, probably signifying that he disregards it.
    3. Jackson is holding a document titled “VETO”. This probably indicates that he picks and chooses the documents he prefers to approve.
    4. Mr. Jackson appears to be holding a staff. It appears to me that this may indicate he was more of a “ruler” as opposed to a president representing the people.
    5. There is a throne in the background, again suggesting a placement in ultimate power – contrary to the expectation of the checks and balances.

Without a doubt, this political cartoon was created by those who opposed him. Entities in the image, which include but are not limited to the throne, quotes, and worn constitution, also imply that he held a man of his own, which was contrary to the Constitution. There was also a quote in the margin that suggested that he vetoes what he wants, as well as him holding a document with text explicitly stating “veto”. Clearly, this political cartoon did not portray Mr. Jackson as a good man because he appeared to follow concepts opposed to the Constitution.

  21. 1. In front of his "throne" as a king
    2. One foot is standing on the constitution as the other is standing on the improvement of the bank
    3. On the same side the bank is on, in his hand he's holding veto. As the other has a Cain to show royalty.
    4. Has an eagle to his side, representing America, maybe.
    5. The words around him "Born to command", "Had I been consulted", and "Of veto memory."

I word clearly say this cartoon was No where near being created by supporters. For example the words, had I been consulted, were words probably from his cabinet, whom he fired. Also, they're portraying him as a king who vetoes everything, not something a supporter would do. And back to that, portraying the leader of the U.S as a king was offense to the government. They built America so they wouldn't be under that. Plus, the constitution is ripped in half, separated from the internal improvements and vetoed bank.

    2. It has the constitution torn
    3. Jackson has crown
    4. Jackson has throne
    5. The bank's charter is under his feet.

I would say that it was created by his enemies or haters because it depicts him beinging a king or tyrant and he is stepping on the constitution as it has been ripped apart. It also shows him as beinging the first king that America has ever had and it would boost his enemies and they would gain more people if people thought that Andrew Jackson was a king. It goes against what the constitution is about and is probably why they close to make it that way so that it would make Andrew Jackson look bad and give his enemies a good chance.(word count 104)

  23. 1. Andrew Jackson is pictured wearing a long robe and crown, something typically worn by a king.
    2. In the background there is a throne, which is normally associated with a king.
    3. Jackson hold a piece of paper that says "VETO".
    4. Jackson is standing on top of a torn Constitution.
    5. The bottom of the cartoon reads "King Andrew the First" which implies that Jackson was kind of like a king as president.
This shows Jackson as a king which America was very against. This shows him as someone who did what he wanted to do and didn't consult with others. This was definitely created by people who opposed Jackson.

I think it was made Jackson haters. I believe this because the people had just broken away from the king a

5.He has a paper that says veto on it

I think Jackson's supporters made this picture for him because they look at Jackson like he's a king. His supporters will do anything to make sure that Jackson becomes president. His supporters know that once he becomes president that the constitution want me anything to him, the judicial system want mean anything to him, and if anything of his is vetoed it would mean anything to him. His supporters also know that once he becomes president that he will act like he's a king and nothing won't mean anything to him.

  26. observations from the jackson picture:
    1. jackson is wearing a crown on his head and wearing very fancy clothing that royal people or kings would wear.
    2. jackson is standing in front of a throne.
    3. jackson is stepping on the constitution.
    4. the constitution that jackson is standing on is ripped up.
    5. jackson looks like hes being praised like a king.

i feel like this cartoon was created by jackson haters. i believe this accusation to be true because this picture describes all the wrong things about jackson. he wanted to be in-charge and in-control, he doesn't care about the constitution, and lastly he wanted to be treated like royalty. as we all know, these characteristics together only spells out trouble.

    5. There is a throne behind him

I think that this was created by Jackson haters. Being a king in America is exactly what we didn't want. So, calling Jackson kind of like saying he's the "king of the United States." This is very insulting to the United States because we didn't want to be like the other countries that have a king. America felt like the people that have a king give the king way too much power.
